The main goals of the project are to popularize Drupal in Bulgaria and to develop the Drupal community ecosystem, as Drupal is one of the most powerful web applications for content management in the world.
What is Drupal
Drupal is a free and open source content management system and framework based on PHP.
With Drupal, users can build any kinds of web applications. These applications can range from small hobby websites and blogs, to complex enterprise web solutions which millions of active users. To build a Drupal-based application, one doesn’t need to know programming. Some of the most widely known projects realized with Drupal are: Stanford University, Harvard University, The Economist, The White House, NASA, MTV UK and many others.
About Drupal Bulgaria
Drupal Bulgaria is a non-profit organization that fosters Drupal adoption via organizing regular meetings, seminars, presentations, educational and media events with developers and end users. Drupal Bulgaria is organizer of the biggest topic event on Drupal in the country - Drupal Camp, which was started first back in 2010.
About Drupal Bulgaria Road Show
"Drupal Bulgaria Road Show" is going to start off in February 2014 and will include a tour in the following Bulgarian cities: Blagoevgrad, Plovdiv, Gabrovo, Ruse, Burgas, Varna, and will finish with the traditional yearly event Drupal Camp in Sofia. The project will include various presentations and lectures on Drupal. All events will be open and free in order to reach maximum coverage and audience. It is expected that various professionals and companies from different business sectors which do or could benefit from using Drupal. Last, but not least, everyone interested in the Drupal community are welcome.
Our partners are local universities, non-profit organizations, as well as companies who are already using Drupal for their projects. We have and will rely on partnerships with IT companies, as well as people who share our ideas and enthusiasm who support us voluntarily.
